Now that spring has seemed *officially* here (goodbye, temperatures below 50 degrees!), it’s time to break winter hibernation mode, put away that puffy puffer jacket and get out of the house in all the pastels and 90s-inspired ‘fits.

If you’re looking to kick off the season with activities that do your body and soul good, we’ve got the list for you. Below, check out nine wellness experiences — including a super special facial and lessons in a sport that’s gaining popularity in the United States — that you can enjoy in Philadelphia this spring.

Attend our annual Be Well Philly Fest!

Our favorite event of the year is back in person (!!) in June, and we can. do not. expect. We’ll reveal the full program later this month, but you can expect a full day of thrilling fitness classes, hands-on wellness experiences and totally insightful speakers at Be Well Philly Fest 2022 presented by Independence Blue. Cross. It’s all happening on Saturday, June 4 – mark those calendars! Plus, early bird tickets are on sale until April 22, so grab them while you can. $55 early bird registration, $65 starting April 23.

Try floating yoga with sunset views

If you love yoga and want to take your practice to the next level, try indoor floating yoga at AKA University City Health Club, Level 28. Every Monday night through May 9, you’ll test your balance and become zen on a floating stand-up paddle board in Level 28’s “pool in the sky” (it’s 400 feet above sea level). the street!), while admiring the sunset from the ground – windows going all the way up to the ceiling – don’t be too distracted if you fall in the water… which could happen anyway. Enjoy a luxury facial with locally made products

Turn for a cause

Since 2017, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and local cycling instructors led Philadelphia Spin-In, a massive two-day spin party to benefit patients at CHOP’s Heart Center. The event is divided into three four-hour sessions taking place Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 in the parking lot of the Roberts Building for Pediatric Research (2716 South Street), but you can also participate from home as a virtual rider. Learn to practice a new sport

Earlier this year, AFC Fitness Location of Bala Cynwyd launched the first indoor padel club in the Northeast, PADELphy. padel, a mix between tennis, squash and badminton, is very popular in Spain, Argentina and Mexico, and is now gaining a foothold in the United States. There are three indoor padel courts at AFC Bala, and PADELphia has an outdoor facility at Manayunk. Interested in getting a solid workout and having a ball? Dedicate an entire morning to taking care of yourself

Spirit, body and sparkling – the wellness show hosted by Philly PR Girl – is back for its fourth year of connection and self-care. This year’s event will take place on May 1 inside and outside location 215 (990 Spring Garden Street). VIP ticket holders can enjoy a yoga and meditation session led by Thrive Pilates & Yoga, and all attendees can shop local health and beauty brands at MBB’s Iconic Vendor Market. Buy your ticket here. Run a race (mural)

It’s no secret that Philly is home to a slew of beautiful murals – so much so that it’s been unofficially dubbed the “mural capital of the world”. that’s why philadelphia runner, Philadelphia wall artsand wall miles have teamed up to create a fun new race featuring some of the best in town. On April 23, the On Art Run will see you and your run run five miles of Philadelphia street art, followed by a chill with music, snacks, drinks and a goody bag. The race will depart at 9 a.m. from Philadelphia Runner’s University City store (3621 Walnut Street). Free, but registration is required.

Local plant-centric wellness and food company Get fresh everyday is hosting its first Black Arts + Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Freedom Greens + Gardens (5200 Pine Street). According to Get Fresh Daily founder Jiana Murdic, the event “will feature some of Philadelphia’s most beloved creators, wellness professionals, and small business owners selling their wares and hosting interactive demos.” Vendors include The Sand Collective, Sharing Herbs, Black Soul Vintage, and more. There will also be live entertainment and plant-based dishes. Free; registration encouraged.

Immerse yourself in tarot

Gina Tomaine, author of Philadelphia Tarot Deck Guide (and former publisher of Be Well Philly!), is hosting two tarot workshops in May at Lumos Yoga & Barre. On Saturday, May 14, you will learn the basics of reading the cards and using their meanings for self-reflection and stronger interpersonal connections.
