Forget holidays at the Plaza. Now you can live there.

In 2005, the New York City icon closed for a $400 million overhaul that would make it both a hotel and a condominium. The prestigious Fifth Avenue address, which has hosted guests like the Beatles, Christian Dior and Frank Lloyd Wright, reopened three years later in 2008 with 181 new private residences. One of these coveted apartments just hit the market for $8 million, and it comes with more than just a doorman.

Located on the 13th floor of the distinguished building, Private Residence 1303 was designed by interior designer (and Olympic skier) Baron Piers von Westenholz. Spanning 1,825 square feet, it offers two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, as well as stunning views of Central Park from nearly every vantage point.

Entering the light-filled residence you will enter a large hall which leads to an open-plan living and dining room with stunning views of the famous park. Adjacent is an oversized chef’s kitchen adorned with Nero Marquina stone countertops, a Calacatta marble backsplash and an array of modern appliances from Viking and Miele.

The rest of the house is divided into two wings for more privacy. On the right side, a walkway takes you past a laundry room, a powder room and four spacious closets to the luxurious master bedroom and bathroom. On the left side, you will find a second bedroom with a bathroom and a walk-in closet. Each bathroom in the house has custom mosaic floors and fixtures from Kohler and Lefroy Brooks. The main bathroom also includes two sinks and a spa-like shower.
