Mendes introduced Ronaldo to Bayern and a number of other clubs, including Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and Napoli this summer, in a desperate bid to get his star client out of United, and also spoke at Newcastle last month.
Bayern chief executive Oliver Khan confirmed in July that they had considered a move for Ronaldo but said he did not fit the club’s “philosophy”.
The Germans were also reluctant to pay the player’s £500,000-a-week wage after paying Liverpool £35m for Sadio Mane as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski. However, Bayern have rekindled their interest amid concerns over Mane’s fitness and uncertainty over Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s future.

Ronaldo is desperate to play in the Champions League again after seeing rival Lionel Messi nearly 11 goals short of his record 140. Curiously, Bayern face Messi and Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 pick in February .
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly could also offer Ronaldo a way out of United in January. The American has a close relationship with Mendes and took an interest in Ronaldo this summer, but he was met with resistance from Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
However, it is understood that Graham Potter is also not keen on the prospect of signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at this stage of his career.
