As a Palisociety Hotel, the St. James will retain its historic charm and dazzling skyline views. “We are drawn to San Diego as a dynamic growth market and are excited to bring the St. James Hotel back to the fore as a Gaslamp Quarter landmark,” said Phil Hospod, Founder and CEO of Dovetail+ Co. “Its historic boutique character fits perfectly with Dovetail’s track record of reinvigorating neglected assets in established destinations. We engaged Palisociety as a brand and manager because we believe their philosophy is a natural fit for this property.”

Despite the global pandemic and financial volatility affecting hospitality markets, Hospod believes in the long-term value of travel. “We believe in the travel industry and our ability to create value within it,” says Hospod. “By focusing on both distinctive real estate and our own exclusive brands, we can honor the past, build on it, and envision the future of hospitality.”
