Define aims

According to Patrick, Dylan entered his fitness journey with very clear goals in mind. “He was never an overweight person, but he had this soft, pasty look,” the trainer explained. “He wanted to tone his body, define his body and lower his body fat percentage to get leaner.”

Dylan also had his sights set on “high-action” acting gigs, Patrick said, so the actor was also looking to get “stronger and more stable.”

“My job is to make the talents very safe, strong and stable, so they can perform very well in intense action scenes,” continued Patrick, who was trained Keanu Reeves and Olivia Wilde in the past for movies. “I take all the highly beneficial corrective exercises and implement my program, so Dylan’s confidence in me is everything. What I make him do will only stabilize his joints.”

Practice

Although Patrick said he doesn’t “do burpees” when it comes to training his clients, the exercises he made Dylan do were no joke. “We’re talking about a minimum of 600 reps,” he said. “Minimal rest. Burn, burn, burn. Positive adaptations. It’s a message to the human body for proper posture alignment, while creating this amazing body that’s super fit and lean.”

To start, Dylan spent a month doing full-body workouts, big circuits to improve his muscular endurance and cardiovascular strength, according to Patrick. “There are a lot of circuit combinations dealing with upper and lower body exercises,” he explained, adding that Dylan had received “a lot of balance exercises and coordination exercises just to give him more confidence as well.”
