STORRS, Conn. – The seeding and schedule have been set for the 2022 BIG EAST Tennis Championship Presented by Jeep, which runs Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24 at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, SC The Huskies will be the No. 9 seed and open the first-round tournament Thursday morning against Villanova, seeded No. 8.

The winner of Thursday’s 9 a.m. game between the Huskies and Wildcats will advance to the quarter-finals and face No. 1 seed St. John’s on Friday around 12:45 p.m. Saturday will feature the semi-final and the championship will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. and will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi on FloSports.

UConn finished the regular season with a 9-11 overall record and a 2-3 record against BIG EAST teams. The Huskies and Wildcats have met once this season with UConn losing in a hard-fought 4-3 battle at Villanova on April 10. UConn opened the match by taking the doubles point with first-two-place wins but lost four of six singles bouts, including two in straight sets, to abandon the match.
