EVART – The doors to the first public gymnasium and fitness center in the city of Evart are set to open on Monday, January 31

Owned by husband and wife Kameron and Tiffiney Cooper, Wildcat Fitness & Nutrition will cater to locals, who have had to travel to train or do so from the confines of their own homes.

The Coopers, who are also residents of Evart, have been fitness enthusiasts for “a long time”, said they felt the addition of a fitness center in town was much needed.

“We (had) a soft opening (earlier this week) so we have friends and family in the gym to test everything out,” Tiffiney Cooper said.

Tiffiney Cooper said she and her husband had been dreaming of opening their own gym for some time, with the plan starting to come together quickly over the past year.

The build was quite a lengthy process, but it’s a process that’s pretty much finished at this point.

“We’ve been talking about it for a long time, but for the planning stages, it’s been about a year,” Cooper said. “It was an empty building, but we built the gymnasium. Everything that was done inside, Kameron and I did.

Work inside the building has progressed steadily since the beginning of December, while construction of various amenities began in October.

Cooper said it took her and her husband a bit of research to figure out which machines they wanted to have in their gym.

The Coopers also have five children, and Tiffiney said she would like to leave the business to them one day.

Doors are scheduled to open at 9 a.m. on opening day.
