STATEN ISLAND, NY — New York City high school students can exercise for free at Planet Fitness locations nationwide through the fitness company’s High School Summer Pass program.

It gives high school students ages 14-19 the chance to work out for free at any of 41 Planet Fitness locations in New York City and across the United States and Canada through August 31.

High School Summer Pass offers a solution for teens who want to stay active when school sports programs, gym classes and extracurricular activities wind down, according to Planet Fitness.

Here’s how to take advantage of the program.

  1. Sign up for your free High School Summer Pass online or in-club through August 31. If you are under 18, you will need a parent/guardian. Register online at planetfitness.com/summerpass.
  2. Once registered, download the Planet Fitness app to get your Summer Pass digital keychain.
  3. Pack your gym bag and head to your home club.

It is important to note that, during the High School Summer Pass program, you will only have access to the club you have selected. Find the nearest Planet Fitness near you.

There are two Planet Fitness locations on Staten Island – 2040 Forest Ave. in Graniteville and 1775 South Ave. to Travis.

All attendees will also have access to free fitness classes offered by the Planet Fitness [email protected] program. You can view club class schedules and sign up for classes by visiting your local club. The mobile app also offers a variety of workouts categorized by fitness level and will help you focus on your personal goals, according to Planet Fitness.

Students who register will be entered for a chance to win a $500 scholarship, one per state. They will also be entered to win a grand prize scholarship of $5,000.
