Planet Fitness teams up with 15-year-old rising star Mckenna Grace to help promote the program and encourage teens to make fitness a part of their lives for better physical and mental health. Actor, singer and songwriter whose last three singles have already garnered over 19 million streams, Grace recently appeared as the lead on Sony’s hit ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ and received an Emmy nomination. Awards for her role as “Mrs. Keyes” in “The Handmaid’s Tale”, making her the youngest nominee in the Guest Actor category. Next, Mckenna stars in “The Bad Seed Returns,” a Lifetime movie she co-wrote with her father and executive producer. Planet Fitness High School Summer pass comes at a time when teens are feeling both the emotional and physical toll of the pandemic.

  • According to the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Network Open, less than 15% of adolescents met the daily physical activity recommendation during the pandemic2
  • A CDC study found that over 40% of teens said they felt constantly sad or hopeless in 20213
  • And according to the CDC, ER visits for suicide attempts in early 2021 for teens ages 12-17 are up 31% from 2019.4

ADDED INCENTIVES TO TRAIN ALL SUMMER

Promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle for teens and families, all high school parents and guardians Summer pass participants will have the opportunity to download a free digital copy of by Robert Irvine Family chart cookbook once their teen has signed up for the program. Additionally, all participants who register are automatically entered into The Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass Sweepstakes. Planet Fitness will reward one $500 scholarship in each state (and the District of Colombia) and a great prize $5,000 scholarship at the end of the summer6.
