The Nigerian Army Women Corps (NAWC) said it has reached agreements to hold its Field Training Exercise (FTX) from August 27 to September 2.

The exercise, to be held in Giri, Gwagwalada, aims to test combat readiness, leadership skills, physical fitness and teamwork among female soldiers.

Abdullahi, who made this known in a statement issued in Abuja, warned that there would be a massive movement of personnel, heavy military equipment and vehicles during the period.

He called on residents living around Gwagwalada, Giri, Tugan Maji, Ana-Gada, Gudumba, Tagilogo and Makalma communities in Abuja not to panic during the exercise.

“The Nigerian Army Women Corps (NAWC) will commence a 7-day FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FTX) for its troops from 27th August to 2nd September 2022 at Giri-Gwagwalada General Area, Abuja. The exercise is designed to test leadership skills, physical fitness, teamwork and military operations other than warfare, among other military exercises. The exercise would also provide a platform to check the readiness of the troops to support all Nigerian Army engagements.

“Therefore, communities living around Gwagwalada, Giri, Tugan Maji, Ana-Gada, Gudumba, Tagilogo and Makalma in Abuja are requested not to panic upon seeing the massive movement of military personnel, vehicles and equipment in the general area from August 27 to September 2, 2022. Residents of the mentioned general areas are therefore advised to go about their normal daily activities and report any security breaches to the nearest authority. communities to stay away from the exercise area for the duration of the FTX.

“You are requested to use your media to disseminate and enlighten the general public, especially the inhabitants of the aforementioned areas. While thanking you for your usual cooperation, please accept the esteemed greetings of the Acting Corps Commander.
