A personal trainer has revealed how he was recruited to help Liz Truss deal with the stress of her tumultuous 44 days in the office.
According The Sunday Timesthe former prime minister hired PT Elliot Espinoza to help keep her physically and mentally strong as she dealt with the fallout from her much-derided mini-budget.
The embattled former prime minister reportedly asked one of his special advisers, Jason Stein, if he knew of a coach who could help him.
Stein then allegedly put Truss in touch with Espinoza, 35, around the end of September.

Speaking about the initial investigation into his fitness services, Espinoza told The Sunday Times: “I thought it was a prank.”
Then he added: “She wanted the option to disconnect from the rest of the day.”
After the first call, Espinoza was reportedly summoned to meet Truss at the Downing Street apartment gymnasium, which would have a rowing machine and treadmill.
They then worked on music from the 80s as well as Taylor Swift tracks, usually early in the morning – around 7:15.
Espinoza is said to have set his alarm clock at 5:30 a.m. to get to work on time.

The Prime Minister would wear a fluorescent sports top with black leggings while her husband Hugh O’Leary, 48, would wear navy blue shorts.
Truss is said to have booked two 40-minute ‘Tabata method’ sessions each week, each costing £60.
Tabata is a high-intensity workout that aims to “produce the most benefits in the shortest amount of time.”
For each exercise – for example, squats – the person does eight sets of 20 seconds of intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest.
Truss apparently canceled his sessions with Espinoza via Whats App after resigning from his position.
When he wasn’t having sessions, Truss was also known to jog early in the morning. She was often seen leaving Downing Street in her exercise gear.
She was known to visit the Archbishop of Canterbury’s 12th-century Thameside Garden at Lambeth Palace in the company of hand-picked advisers.
The goal was apparently to find solutions to the daunting set of problems that filled his baccalaureate.
She would then return to No 10 to take a shower, ready to hold her first meeting at 8.30am at her desk in the Cabinet Office.
His predecessor Boris Johnson is also known to be a great jogger.
He is often seen taking his dog Dilyn – through St James Park and central London.
